Is Pinterest Worth Downloading?

Aren't you tired of saving pictures of recipes or party ideas to your camera roll? Wouldn't it be nice to have an entire app where you can search for those very same things and put them all in one place where you can easily find them? Oh wait, that already exists! That is exactly what Pinterest is used for, a place to curate your ideas for events, recipes you'd like to try or even outfit/aesthetic inspiration.  In my personal opinion, Pinterest is absolutely worth downloading because it allows you   to discover new ideas, from DIY projects to home decor, fashion, cooking and more. You can also create boards to save and organize your ideas.  The best part is that Pinterest learns your preferences based on your searches and saved pins, offering a personalized stream of content perfectly tailored to your interests. There are also promotional pins that will pop up on your feed, based on other pins you've clicked on, that allows you to purchase things you looked at before, s...

Thrift Til You Drop

Image
These days clothing continues to get more and more expensive. Prices go up and quality goes down. We, as consumers, find it incredibly hard to find nice clothes for reasonable prices without breaking the bank. This is why I recommend thrifting wherever and whenever you can.  You can thrift basically anything from clothes, shoes and jewelry to furniture, decorations and even electronics. The main thing most people, including me, thrift is clothing. Thrift stores usually have racks on racks full of clothes that are under $10 that go completely overlooked because no one wants to take the time to find something they like. As a frequent thrifter, I can attest that it can be really hard to find clothes that not only fit you, but seem lightly used. However, if you have the time to browse a little I guarantee you'll find an outfit that you'll love that's never even been worn before. There are so many hidden gems squished between a top that looks like your grandmother's curtains...

Snapchat vs. Instagram: Which Reigns Supreme?

As a user of both platforms, I can say there are lots of similarities and differences between the two apps. I, as well as many others who use both apps, have a preference over which one they like to use more. For me, I typically use Snapchat as a way to communicate with my friends and post in the moment pictures and videos. Instagram is the platform I typically use to post long-lasting pictures of my life that I want people to see on my account. I think this is how most people choose to use these platforms. Somewhat recently, Snapchat made public profiles a feature on the app where you can make posts and keep them on your profile for people to see in a similar format that Instagram uses. I can't say that I've ever used that feature or even felt inclined to when I can easily post on Instagram.  I don't necessarily think one app is better than the other, but between the two, Instagram is more popular among older generations while Snapchat is used more by younger people. Insta...

The Happiest Place On Earth

Image
Over this spring break, I went to Florida for the first time ever! During this vacation, we spent two days at the happiest place on Earth, Disney World, which was by far the highlight of the whole trip. I went with my two best friends and we decided to dedicate one park to each day. On the first day we went to Magic Kingdom and on the second day we went to Hollywood Studios. I was amazed at how much there was for us to do between the rides, food, attractions and shows and even though we couldn't get to everything, we still accomplished the bulk of what those parks had to offer.  My favorite parts of Magic Kingdom were riding on Tron, seeing the parade of some of my favorite characters, the Pirates of the Carribbean ride, eating dole whip and seeing the firework show. As someone who's never seen the movie Tron, the queue for the ride was so immersive and made the wait go by faster because I was so excited to get on. I've never been on a ride that makes you sit like you'r...

The Components of a X Post

Every X post has a certain amount of text you can write. Traditionally, X posts were limited to just 140 characters, but in 2017, the character limit was expanded to 280 characters. This gives users more flexibility to come up with fun messages, share opinions or engage in discussions. The briefness of X posts is one of the platform's defining features. Whether you're posting a joke, a news update or your thoughts on the trending topics at the time, your message should usually be clear and to the point. A well-written post can spark conversations between many different groups of people. One of the most powerful tools on X are hashtags. They categorize content and make it discoverable by a broader audience. When you add a hashtag to your post, you are linking your content to a specific topic or conversation happening on X. Using trending hashtags increases the reach of your post and connects you to a larger conversation. For example, posts with popular or trending hashtags can h...

A Trip To Disney!

This spring break is about to be the best yet! This year I am going home with a friend of mine to Florida! This is the first time I'll be going on a real vacation and I am beyond excited for it. There is so much we have planned: beach days, days filled with go-karting and laser tag, and so many restaurants. But what I am most excited for is the 2 day trip we'll be taking to Disney World! Our plan is to go to Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios and split each park on different days. I love roller coasters so I am absolutely thrilled to be going to a theme park filled with those and some of my favorite characters from my childhood.  Another new experience for me will be that this will be my first time going on a plane. My friends who I am going with tell me that the scariest part is taking off and that since it's only a 4 hour flight, it shouldn't be too bad. I don't think I'm really worried about the flight per say, especially because I''ll have my nose s...
