Well, ladies and gentlemen, we’ve reached the end of the road. As the semester comes to a close, it’s time for me to publish my final blog post. However, this doesn’t have to mark the end of my blogging journey. I’m saying goodbye for now only because, at some point in life, I may want to return here and share more of my thoughts with you. There’s always a possibility, and I don’t want to say this is the end forever because it might not be. When I started, I didn’t think I’d get much out of blogging. I thought, “Oh, it’s just another assignment,” and figured it wouldn’t mean much to me. But to my surprise, the opposite happened. What began as simply going through the motions became a meaningful outlet that allowed me to express things I don’t usually get to talk about. This semester I am taking a directing class where I will learn how to, well, direct! Directing is a passion of mine that I have yet to explore until now. In this class we will start small by working on scenes from the play, The Glass Menagerie by Tennessee Williams. This classic play has so much to offer a director because of how well-written the characters and the story are. We were each given scenes that are about four pages long and will get to block them however we wish to. This gives me lots of room to play around with and I get to create a story that is mine.  Our main task for this first showing is for us to clearly display the "spine" of our scene, meaning the overall message or meaning of the play.
